Fulcrum Welcomes Valerie Graham as Associate
Valerie Graham has joined Fulcrum Public Affairs as an Associate, where she will help the firm with federal, state and local advocacy, particularly in the State of Maryland.
September 2, 2025 – Washington D.C. – Valerie Graham has joined Fulcrum Public Affairs as an associate where she will help the firm with federal, state and local advocacy, particularly in the State of Maryland. She will focus on financial services, tax and other economic issues.
“We are proud to have Val join our ‘young, scrappy and hungry’ team,” said Fulcrum co-founder Oscar Ramirez. “Her experience working with political leaders in Maryland will be invaluable to our firm and our clients.”
A native of Silver Spring, MD, Valerie holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. She served as executive director of the Maryland Legislative Women’s Caucus from 2022 to 2023.
“Coming from the General Assembly, Val will add a unique perspective, especially when it comes to matters that relate to the State of Maryland,” said Fulcrum co-founder Dana J. Thompson. “She not only knows the State, but she knows many of the members.”
Valerie also served as campaign manager or field director for numerous local races in Maryland, including current president of the Montgomery County (MD) Council Kate Stewart and Del. Lesley Lopez. Valerie previously interned for former Maryland House Majority Leader Eric Luedtke and Del. Vaughn Stewart.
“Val Graham brings pure political instincts and legislative know-how to Fulcrum. Her partnership in leading our efforts at the Maryland Women’s Caucus, one of the largest and most impactful in the country, led to policy wins that brought positive change to every Marylander,” said Del.
